September 24 Tournament Rules
Local Rules / Format: in addition to the 2017 USGA Rules of Golf, the following Local Rules shall be in effect:
Format: Two person team verses all teams in the field in a match play format. The combination of your team’s net strokes determines the winner of each hole.
Each hole net match worth 1 point = 18 points
Team total net stroke play is worth 3 points = 3 points
Handicaps: Because all league handicap systems are different, to level the playing field, each player’s Golf League Network score history is used and the Recreational Golf Handicap System (RGHS) is applied. If your handicap changes, keep in mind that others may have as well.
Tees: Women play from the red tees, men play from the white tees.
You can bump your ball in roughs or fairways; Keep up with the group in front of you at all times
Play everything as a Lateral Hazard
Lateral Hazard: Is defined by red lines, red stakes or “No Mow” (Deep Grass/Heather) areas that are inbounds. Go to the point where the ball last crossed the line into the hazard/heather,( This should be agreed upon by playing partners) take 2 club lengths no closer to the hole, drop and take one stroke penalty.
Lost Ball: A ball is considered lost if it hasn’t been found within 2 minutes. Drop the ball at the nearest point it was lost and take one stroke penalty. Or if in the heather, go to the point where the ball last crossed the line into the heather, take 2 club lengths no closer to the hole, drop and take one stroke penalty.
Hole # 17: If you hit it in the water please precede to the drop area located near the ladies tee box. You will be hitting your third shot.
Water Hazard: Is defined by yellow lines and/or yellow stakes. Go to the point where the ball last crossed the line into the hazard, take 2 club lengths no closer to the hole, drop and take one stroke penalty. Drop area are provided on holes #5 and #17. (Water hazards are marked on #17 and #7)
Out of Bounds: Is defined by white stakes and/or white lines. Play out of bounds the same as a lateral hazard. Go to the point where the ball last crossed the line into the hazard, take 2 club lengths no closer to the hole, drop and take one stroke penalty.
Ground Under Repair: Is defined by white lines and roped off areas.
The Embedded Ball Local Rule: Lift, Clean & Place throughout the course. Mark your ball, pick it up, clean it and place it within 6 inches of its original spot unless you are in a hazard. .
Range Finders that measure distance only, are allowed in this event.
Gross Skins Game: Entry fee $5.00 per player and is included in everyone’s registration. If there are no skins out, there will be a random drawing among all players of 3 individuals to split the pot.
